SUPERB EARLY PAIR OF BICORNUAL BASKETS (JAWUN), HERBERT RIVER REGION, NORTH EAST QUEENSLAND, woven lawyer cane and natural earth pigments (both with custom stands) A crescent shaped, woven bicornual basket made from lengths of split lawyer cane, without handles. The remains of an overall painted design executed in black pigment and red ochres can be seen adhering to the outside surface of the basket. Approx Lengths 40cm, 19cm.
