Superb Kingdom of Saxony WW1 era artillery officer's sword with scabbard. 97cm overall with 82cm slightly curved pipe backed blade with maker's particulars of Weyersbug Kirschbaum. Etched with the royal arms of Saxony and the cypher of Bernard III (reigned 1914-18) and "Eisenhauer" (iron cutter) in gilt panels at the ricasso, gilt brass stirrup hilt with lion head pommel and Royal arms, outer langet with crossed cannons, aire bound fish skin covered grip. Black painted steel scabbard. Excellent condition
