Early deeply carved Hunstein Mountain Bahinemo Mask, Papua New Guiinea. Carved and engraved hardwood and natural pigment. Of deeply carved concave form with hooked symmetrical projections and bulging eyes with a nicely adzed back. Highlighted with ochres of reddish orange and white with black stripes across the eyes.
