EARLY SHIELD WITH FIRE TOOL MARKINGS, CENTRAL DESERT REGION, NORTHERN TERRITORY, Carved beanwood and natural pigments (with custom stand) Shield of softwood, oval in form with rounded ends and a handle carved from solid form level with surface. It has inwardly curving surfaces. There is continuous incised fluting on both surfaces. It is pigmented. Approx L61 x 18.5cm. PROVENANCE
