Imperial Japanese Army officer's sword with combat scabbard , of Shin Gunto type. 89cm overall with 53cm blade which is an old wakizashi blade signed "Echizen no uni Kanenori" and is still quite a solid blade which has not been much re polished. Scabbard is of typical combat type, hilt with Shin Gunto mons is complete with a field grade officer's swords knot. A nice example of a WW2 sword carried by an officer with an old family blade
